New Stuff: Double Dee's - 1/8th buggy tire (1075 Reads)
Posted by admin on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 - 07:06 AM

JConcepts racing tires –

"Double Dees" unleashed - First Big race, first Big win.
JConcepts Racing Tires made their debut at the 2007 Nitro Challenge in Surprise, AZ. In the hotly contested 45 minute A-main event, Ryan Maifield made it a debut to remember by winning the Pro Gas Truck class A-main with his Associated GT2 running on JConcepts "Double Dees" tires in Sticky Green Compound.
JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield stated:
"You can tell if a tire is going to work on the first lap and especially in 1/10th scale and gas truck in particular. While in the lead with 2 minutes to go, when I heard the race announcer say I had my fastest lap in the entire 45 minute A-main, I was impressed!"
JConcepts President Jason Ruona stated:
"I have been fascinated with R/C tires since I started racing in 1991. I've driven in 3-IFMAR Worlds A-main finals and been a Pro driver since 1994. Great drivers can make a lot of products look good; tires are not one of those products."
JConcepts racing tires are available in soft blue compound and super soft Sticky Green compound. Please view the JConcepts Tire Application chart for thread pattern and compound suggestions.
Although, the first major event for these tires, they have been under development for nearly a year. Rigorous testing by qualified drivers and designers make for ideal racing products.
JConcepts - Will, Vision, Desire, Strength and Creativity.

High rolling “Big Wheels” are the new rage in 1/8th truck racing.  JConcepts has you covered with Half-ups.  Half-ups is the JConcepts term for all larger diameter wheels.  The term Half-ups comes from the fact that the larger sized wheel is a full ½” bigger than a standard 1/8th truck wheel.  So if you see anything Half-ups you’re seeing it big.

JConcepts – Rulux – 1/8th truck Half-ups wheels are 3.75” bead mounting diameter and designed for low profile 1/8th truck tires.

Report by Piraterc

1st Place Elliot Boots Buggy RC8 Engine RB 20laps 10m 25.14

2nd Place Darren Bloomfield Buggy Losi 8ight Engine Novarossi 19laps 10m 6.20

3rd Place Mike Cradock Buggy Kyosho Engine Sirio 19laps 10m 20.30

Today saw round 2 of the Panther Challenge at HNMC the day brought some very interesting weather and track conditions with a lovely thick fog that decided it was going to stay put all day. The track was frozen to start and by the end of round one of qualifying it was starting to thaw. The first round of qualifying proving somewhat of a challenge to keep your car heading in the right direction for some drivers and the reduced visibility it was a real challenge. With the defrosting of the track surface a  whole new challenge begun to unfold as the cars battled there way through the muddy conditions. With a lot of drivers deciding that the mud was not a wise choice to race in, The finals got underway after some track alterations to accommodate the low visibility caused by the ever persistent fog to allow drivers one less handicap to deal with. The finals brought out the mud madness and lots of entertainment for the spectators as after the first lap is was almost impossible to differentiate between cars as they were all covered in the same muddy brown paint job. Another top days racing and entertainment thanks to the dedicated team that run HNMC. Pictures from the event will be posted in the next day or two in the gallery on Piraterc.
