Latest News: The New Xray 808 Hits the Track (16648 Reads)
Posted by admin on Monday, February 25, 2008 - 01:51 AM news

I was privileged to see the new Xray 808 in action around Dartford Race Track and I was well and truely Lost for words! this is one awesome car, and a true credit to the design and engineering team behind it. Watching the pro drivers put the new Xray 808 through its paces was an absolute pleasure and seeing how well the car handles around the track it is extremely agile and very responsive. It handles the jumps with ease and rides the bumps with grace. This is surely has to be the top contender for choice for any driver out there looking to change cars / upgrade there current car. Here are a few pictures to help you with your choice and a few comments from the XRAY Team Drivers.

Andy Taylor / Lee Taylor Comments

It started on Tuesday on a dour but dry day at Frankley. This overcast and cold day was brightened up not by the sun but by my smile. With a couple of the Mirage/Xray team in attendance to run the Xray 808 for the very first time in the UK. With Lee and Bren otherwise engaged that day it was left to Kevin and Ben to see if what looked good on paper really was as good as it looked when out on the track.

All I could say after that day was AWESOME. A quick lap looks slow.........its a term used by the ones in the know.......but this car LOOKED quick. So was it a case of optical illusions? Well the lap times don't lie. Lets just say they were more than encouraging.
So with the car being tested over the next two days with just a tiny box of spares accompanying the driver I waited with baited breath until the Friday and a visit to the recently upgraded DRT Dartford Race Track. I know Xray quality is legendary but a new quickly being produced. any thing is possible.

As luck would have it we had some lap times from the previous weekends event and a track that had been used by 75 drivers for day. Perfect for testing. A dry day met us as we rolled up around 10 am. The smiles told it all. Even after a hard night shift Bren Ralls was smiling. The fact he had won the recently mentioned race with his EC could have been good cause. So I picked up the stop watch and pressed the memory. Nice laps! What was the quickest last week I asked. On the pace already then.?? But it got better, a lot better! Quite how much I will leave Bren to tell you. Suffice to say my decorating "WILL" be finished this weekend. The RC gear prepped and packed for Neo during the week and that is not scheduled until 21st of March. I don't think you will have to wait that long either! The new season looks a whole lot better after today!

Comment By Brennan Ralls:
After testing at my local track today the Xray 808 has already shown great balance & pace by already smashing my own lap record by 2 seconds. With more testing still to come the 808's true pace is only just being learnt & living up to Xrays motto the art of performance.
