piraterc.com news

Well here we are yet again it srs report time again and after another fantastic weekends racing lets see mmm where to start well with over 120 drivers making the trip down to compete it was set to be one hell of a days racing and any one who didnt make it was to miss out on a great SRS meeting. The clubs involved in the series this year have really pulled out all the stops. Hnmc was to be no exception with some really awsome new features beeing added to the track leading up to sundays meeting.

Round 6 was to be no exception with plenty of excitement and some truely fantastic displays of driving from Darren Bloomfield and his Novarossi powered Losi 8ight 2.0 running Losi tyres and Elliot Boots with his RB powered Mugen MBX6 running J Concept tyres. These two drivers are just getting better and better with every race they enter and the ability to race so close and so fast literally pushing each other to the limit.

One thing that i really love about the SRS is all the friendship and meeting up with everyone having fun doing something we all enjoy.

Rallycross saw a fantastic 87 racers enter to do battle for the trophies and there was a fantastic battle for TQ between Darren Bloomfield and Elliot Boots who were the only two drivers to set 8 lap runs in every round for the day. Darren Bloomfield layed down the target time by recording a 8 laps in 8/5m 37.50 for the first heat with Elliot Boots 1.21 seconds behind him.

Round two saw Elliot Boots set the best 8 lap run for the day of 8 laps in 8/5m 32.15 taking TQ for heat two.

Onto the third round of qualifying with TQ spot there for the taking and boy was heat three set to be the one to watch as both Darren and Elliot were going to go out and push hard for the win and claim the overall TQ for the day. It was not to be Elliots day as Darren Bloomfield put in his fastest run of the day to secure overall TQ for round 6 of the srs.

The Truggy entry ran to 3 heats with 7 laps needed to be anywhere near the A final - that might not sound much, but with such a large track layout 6 laps was the order of the day for the midfield and down! The truggy finals pretty much all involved a complete turn around in running order on the first lap, with those nearer the back benefiting from the early pile ups and those starting at the front.
