2008 IFMAR 1/8 Buggy Worlds' Top Qualifier
At a Glance

The 1/8-scale 8IGHT 2.0 4WD Buggy Race Roller features over thirty revisions and improvements to the revolutionary 8IGHT buggy chassis. The 8IGHT 2.0 Buggy proved to be the fastest buggy in qualifying by taking Top Qualifying honors at the 2008 IFMAR 1/8 Buggy World Championships.

The chassis on the 8IGHT 2.0 has been extended an additional 2mm to provide increased stability and speed. The chassis’ Tuned Flex Technology provides significant handling gains by responding precisely to changes in the terrain without sacrificing balance and grip. Steel chassis droop stops have also been added to ensure consistent down stop settings.
The 8IGHT 2.0 includes updated steering geometry which features a servo saver with increased consistency. Additional gains in steering precision were made by incorporating a pressed-steel bushing in the Ackerman brace, which reduces friction over the entire range of motion. The suspension on the 8IGHT 2.0 allows for customization with numerous shock mounting locations, two camber link positions on the front carrier and four on the rear.

A revised radio tray on the 8IGHT 2.0 optimizes the position of the servos, while increasing response time and reducing stress on the throttle servo. The sure-close fuel tank ensures positive closure and prevents air from entering the fuel system.

The 8IGHT 2.0 features high-quality 7075 aluminum shock towers that reduce weight for improved on-track performance without sacrificing handling or strength. The dogbones and outdrives of the 8IGHT 2.0 feature improved steel materials to withstand the abuse of competitive racing. The rear hub design incorporates an updated inner camber link, a revised shock tower and simplified camber locations and the durability of 3.5mm outer rear hinge pins.

The rear gear box on the 8IGHT 2.0 has the capability to shim the rear ring gear from the pinion to ensure ultra free drivetrain. Also included on the 8IGHT 2.0 is a left side keyed insert to improve durability.

Features:
New Rear Hub Design
The 8IGHT 2.0 features a new rear hub design that incorporates a new inner camber link, a revised shock tower with simplified camber locations and the durability of 3.5mm outer rear hinge pins.
New Chassis with Tuned Flex Technology (TFT)
The 8IGHT 2.0 chassis has been extended an additional 2mm, offering added stability and handling across all track conditions. This offers the 8IGHT 2.0 the ability to carry more speed into and out of corners, and to glide across washboard sections with ease. Tuned Flex Technology also provides significant handling gains by responding precisely to changes in terrain without sacrificing balance and grip. Team Losi Racing has also added laser etched lines to ensure perfect motor alignment
Revised Radio Tray Design
The radio tray on the 8IGHT 2.0 has been revised and reengineered to optimize the position of the servos, increasing response and reducing stress on the throttle servo at the same time. This design allows for increased precision from the throttle servo without added weight.
Precision Steering Geometry and Servo Saver
Improving on the 8IGHTs original steering design was a difficult task, but the engineers at Team Losi Racing have managed to increase the consistency of the servo savers operation by further tweaking the steering geometry. Additional gains in steering precision were made by incorporating a new, pressed-steel bushing in the Ackermann brace for reducing friction over the entire range of motion.
Sure-Close Fuel Tank
Every second counts on race day, and fast fuel fills are crucial to getting back in the race. With a new, sure-close fuel tank design, the tank lid is designed for automatic, positive closure each time, preventing air from getting in the fuel system and affecting performance.
Lightened Shock Towers
The high-quality 7075 aluminum shock towers on the 8IGHT 2.0 have been strengthened and lightened at the same time. By optimizing the design for rigidity, Team Losi Racing engineers were able to reduce the weight for improved on-track performance without sacrificing handling or strength.
Heavy Duty Dogbones and Outdrives
With the increased horsepower demands of 1/8-scale buggy racing, Team Losi used improved steel materials on the dogbones and outdrives of the 8IGHT 2.0 to stand up to the abuse. These heavy-duty components have been designed to withstand the punishment associated with serious off-road competition.
Updated Suspension Geometry
The suspension on the 8IGHT 2.0 features numerous shock mounting locations for several options in adjusting the suspension setup. The front carrier also features two camber link positions while the rear has four, allowing for even greater customization to varying track conditions.
