Hello there everybody, I shall shortly be switching to an MBX6 and would like any tips you have.

I've spent a year with a Crono but fancy a change I race at Pendle so have been spoilt with all the setup info from Crompy who was running the same car.

I run an RB S7  with their 2045 pipe and 192 header will this fit under the body of the MBX6 as I see Nova just made a tighter bend header aimed at the Mugen chassis layout.

I see Boots is running a JP4 with his RB anyone have any comments on that pipe, I like the idea of an anodised finish you can get on that too as I suspect it will clean easier? I really want the pipe to fit well under the body as one of the things that bugged me with the Crono was the pipe came out the front of the body.

Is there anything that brakes on the car in standard form? I've been told the front upper arm holder might be one of the things to brake in the right crash?

Are the kit springs on the money any reccommendations welcome

cheers

Sam

JP4 Is Great with the RB

Just get the Aluminum Upper Hinge Brace and thats about it!!

Try 10/7/5 in the diffs Smiley

Do you know what header people are using with the JP4 for it to fit, or is it the std one?

I run 10-7-3 in the Crono diffs 5 is a bit tail happy for me.

Is the upper hinge pin brace a Mugen upgrade or a third party brand?

Sure Sam will see this at some point and try fish out his pendle setup for us  Wink

I think the hinge pin holder is a Mugen upgrade,as i've just got the ali one as standard on my 6T.

Give these guys a ring

MiM also do a hypex header for the 6

kit springs are quite good from the off.

certain pipe combos wont fit, i run the os 2060 combo and this does.

the front upper brace has been broken by some im still on the original one and its still intact, the revised upper arms also come with a reinforced plastic brace which if your buying a new kit now will include, for peace of mind fit the alu one.

It looked like Elliott ws running the standard MBX5 chassis torque rod which would give more flex than the solid Alu one which comes with the MBX6 kit.

Not sure which shell but both proline and Jconcepts make shells for the car.

Started building the car last night and I cant say enough about the shear quality of this kit!

Everything is perfectly made and engineered and just fits together spot on.

I havent come across any part yet that looked naff at all.

Pretty much got the car built now just waiting for a switch to arrive and need a new header (RB now make a compact header to fit the Mugen)

Cant wait to run this thing now, although it looks too good to use  Smiley

That looks nice Sam

I would love the 6 buggy, but i've just got the truggy and i need to learn to race before i try and controll a rocket  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.

If you give MiM a call, they have a Hypex header in for the 6 buggy's that has a tighter curve  Grin

Had a quick test at the track last night before doing track work and I was buzzing with the performance.

The car is completely stock setup and it was 'Le Bolleaux' out the box, looking forward to racing it sunday. The car just goes where you steer it even on some worn out tyres on it was flying.

Cheers Custard...

Raced on sunday for the first time with the car and overall was went well.

The car had waaaaay to much steering and was very loose (tail happy) at the rear with the kit setup on the super dry loose blistering hot Pendle track (yes I did connect Pendle and super dry loose)

I changed things over the course of the day and it was getting better and better. I dropped to 30wt rear shock oil and brought them to the inner position on the arm and one one down from middle on the tower that made a great improvement. I went to long wheelbase on the rear and went to middle hole on the hub upper link, I increased the camber on the rear too as at full droop the wheels have posative camber!!
All this helped with rear traction but the shear amount of steering was making the rear lively still, as I didnt have any stiffer front springs or roll bar I turned the dual rate down to 80% lol and that really helped still with  mass's of steering left! I layed the front shocks over one hole from the lowest on the tower and went up to 3mm caster and reduced droop to 109mm. The car was the best it had been all day for the final but I had rich tune issues holding me up and a cut after 2nd fuel stop put pay to a great result.

But for a brief while (and I mean brief  Grin) I went from 6th on A final grid to 3rd out the frst corner and then actualy past Richard Taylor (a big thing for me) for 2nd behind Crompy! After 2 laps I was 3sec behind Taylor in 3rd with Ryan Donovan and Stuart Mahon chasing me down when my rich motor started hampering my progress.

The car feels bloody great it jumps amazingly well and once I get the level of steering (there is sooo much) to rear grip dialed in I'm going to be 100% chuffed.

I'll be trying a slightly stiffer front roll bar and springs to ease the steering off next so I'll see how that works out, 2.4mm roll bar and 9.25T front springs soon to be on order. (came with 2.3mm roll and 9.75T F springs)
