Thanks to Mr Pirate as i was lucky for a wild card entry & a personal invite so an oppertunity to play. Great weather although Autumn is truly on its way as temps where only in the late teens. New Track layout which was fun & challenging, the surface was clean so grip was good on the proline rubber & i run bowfighters all day in m2 which gave a good balance. An extended warm up period in round one aided as a practice & then it was straight into qualifying.

Rnd 1 for me was a spot on clean run except jumping of the jumps mid way through loosing a couple of seconds but to my suprise TQ , man thats been a long time coming & its been a while.

Rnd 2 experimented with test parts but car was harder to drive so a slower time & 7th in rnd.
Rnd 3 & more experimental parts, much quicker car & potential for Tq but a marshalled car thrown direct into my path would blow those chances & so would end up 5th on the grid.
Having to keep all settings the same so to test the shocks meant my car went a little away from the track so became edgy in the final but still good. A clean start kept me in position but the added bonus of one less fuel stop would help later on so just kept a steady pace to keep consistent. At the 22 minute point when all had finished pitting found myself in 2nd & battling with my old team mate Bruce Thompson, we swapped positon virtually every other corner with clean wheel to wheel racing & this was the case upto one minute to go when Mr Tatman kind of ruined the party. Heat of the moment i guess but etiquate kind of slipped his mind & i became his brakes, one hard nudge & i was on my roof not really how its done as top level racers normally wait till your back on your wheels before going off. The same fate also for Bruce so shame on you Mark but hey i guess were not all angels & can all be quilty of this at some point during our racing , hats off though Mark you had a stormer in qualifying & a deserved 2nd there.
Well for myself binned it then & dumped myself to 5th so dissapointing when 2nd could of so easily been achieved, they say thats racing i guess & we all have our tale to tell on how we saw it..
All in all a great event & track, thanks to Models in Motion / Race Prep, Mark Bailey, Mr Pirate & all involved at Herts for a fantastic day.

Thats me now done for a while brownie points to be earned.
