Hope your finger is on the mend mate - have you had any stitches in it? Embarrassed was above and beyond your duty sticking a lightly gloved finger in a flywheel running at full chat  Shocked - my radio decided it didn't like having a metal wall between it and the car, so it went skitz on the box while we were queuing to go up onto the rostrum.  Wierd thing was it was fine on the Saturday doing exactly the same thing, but on the Sunday it was twitching a bit in the 1st warm up, skitz in the 2nd, fine in the 3rd (when I stayed with the car until pit crew were called in as well)

That flat kick up on your chassis must've been the reason for the front centre shaft popping out in the final - the engine was flying in the final with a proper tune (and a pipe!) on it!

Was sorry to hear about your mate on Sunday - can understand why you just wanted to head home after a day like that.

I had a pretty crappy time of it racing-wise - of my 6 qualy runs 2 were spoilt by issues with the car - 2nd throttle servo failure in round 4, shock balljoint snapped in warmup for round 6 so did it with spring cabletied to wishbone and still managed 44s laps!  Missed the start of round then the electrics shut off on the last lap, so that one got thrown away as well......

Final was worse - got a great start, but had to hold a tight line round the 3rd corner to hold position - couldn't get enough traction to clear the double and just about bobbled over the jump, got the car pointed in the right direction just as the rest of the field landed on my roof as they cleared the double......mine was the last car recovered and I couldn't see it on track for upwards of 30 seconds - queue wrecked bodyshell and lost bodyclip, engine shifted on mount causing drivetrain to bind up.  Got called in for the shell to be reattached, so Bren fuelled me up to the finish, but the shell then came loose again and I could feel something wasn't right with the way it was driving as couldn't clear the jumps cleanly, so when I got another call to reattach the shell again I parked it up to avoid further damage  Sad

Really disappointed as the car had plenty more pace in it - should've been doing 10 lappers throughout qualy with the car I had, but issues resulting in lost track time, plus too low a heat meant I spent too much time trying to get round people and overdriving the car to try and compensate.

A weekend to put down to experience.....
