Ah ok. You remove the shocks and mount the Hudy setup station on the wheels? Then meassure camber?

I leave my shocks on the car so the car is floating at ride height in the station. I guess 2-3° will be around 6° with the chasis on the ground.

Hi, I’ve never raced on astro but I’m planning to attend the SRS at Action Park on Sunday.

I know that the track has been closed for a while but can anyone confirm a base set up that’s likely to work there?
Or some kind of starting point, page 1 set up?

Any advice welcome

Thank you

Chances are i will be on hand as support on Sunday, if you go to the raceprep website there are a few astro setups there

but it is much the same as the grass setup, limit the droop, thicker diffs such as 20/20/10 stiffer springs and roll bars

Hi Rob, I have never tried heavier than 15,15,5 on dirt and the car was quite hard to drive. Let’s say that the rear end had its own agenda, which would have been great in The Doughnut Series, so thinking to try 15,10,3 next time. Anyway, even though it’s astro and having never tried 20,20,10 , would you still recommend it? or maybe a slightly lighter option to be safe? Thanks

10 in the rear, ok I will try that. As you can set ups have no secret for me! lol
I will come and see you on Sunday but for now I’m gonna follow your advice 20,20,10 and page 1 set up.
Well, I don’t have the roll bars and springs that you have mentioned but I will have to make it work…
Thanks for your help

Hi Rob,

A Big "Thank You" for your help on Sunday. I probably did not get the best out of the set up but the car was really good so I would definitely recommend it; I just need more practice...   Wink

Usually racing at Slough, Westmill and Clanfield so if you have any set up sheets for those tracks I am interested.

Thanks again

@Francois, you really need thick swaybars to go fast around the corner. I'm running 3.0mm front and rear (cut off a rear swaybar and place it in the front) and that feels very good on astro turf.

@Glorykid: I'm running now 10-10-5 on astroturf, but it feels a bit light imo. I like thicker diffs. Last time I ran 7-7-5 on dirt and that felt pretty good. Should I try 20-15-10 or?

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm now at 10-10-5 but I feel a bit more rear traction would be welcome. My Mugen was very good at the track yesterday where we practised for the next race. A friend (who drives the mbx6t) drove my buggy and the only thing he said was DIALED Cheesy And keep smiling and laughing. My buggy was planted on the track!
