With a phone call mid week from the Pirate give us a lift mister had a wee detour first thing Sunday morning. With Richard confirming the legend that he is Lewis Hamilton would be racing, all I could think though was brotherly competition would be great to watch with his brother Nick. Who cares about your team mate never let your brother beat you its a totally different rivalry & one I love with my wee brothers Niggs.
The track ravaged by rain had to be re prepped but made it loose & very sandy. A difficult surface as the dirt would give no response & feel though the car but the brick, astro & concrete sections where grippy as hell.
Each round pace was good although a silly error each run punished me & was disappointed in finals position as had to do it from the C. This went well & with a tire change to revolver M2 car felt faster although a little twitchy. A scrappy final with errors but 3rd & bump up to B. Undecided on tires & swapped back to M3 Bowfighters, easier to drive but inevitably a little slower but safe was my thought process.
Duff start & punted off, 3 subsequent mistakes by me really helped the cause & ¾ of a lap back from 1st what a duffer. Knuckled down pulling back into pack but with scrubbed tires getting blown realized tire choice & M3 was a mistake in this format. Rescued 9th from here & good points but not enough for guaranteed Euro A place so reserve places again it may be.
Mixed fortunes as a series but blew out on the astro, came good on the dirt with all B's or semi finishes so consistent. Many mixed views on the series but many viewing the wish for change to a 2 day format & value for money in there racing. It has its pro's & cons with arguments for & against such a change, I have proposed for change but in the end will just come down to who makes the effort at the AGM to attend & vote.
Any how that's me for a bit & some time off, champion of champion is next for me on 3rd of Oct & endurance race following that at stoke on 17th.
