The 2011 version of the highly succesful 808 platform brings major changes and improvements to bring performance, reliability and enjoyment again to another higher leve. With a focus on attaining maximum reliability of the platform, the central drivetrain system has been updated. To push performance levels higher, the suspension geometry has been improved once again, and new aluminum suspension holders are now included as standard in the kit. not much changed by the looks - although i'm sure the overall balance will be different.  in many ways a good thing AFAIC

The continued support for the older versions means people will upgrade when they wear their car out - not like you and me Rich when we barely get out to race!

LOL this is true my 2010 has barely done 4 race meetings and its being replaced however thats the only way to do a new review for the site and a good reason for new toys. I must admit im not feeling the love for that new body shell yet.

It reminds me of the Xray 808 prototype shell when i scooped the most amazing spy shots ever

It looks like they have eventually admitted they were wrong with the direction they went with the diff bearings/pinions in the last two revisions. I know some people didn't have any issues, but it seems to have been only those that took the servicing and maintenance to almost anal levels. For the average racer they don't want to have to strip the bulkheads down between every race. Time will tell if its a permanent fix. I think it was the way to go from the start anyway. Oh and last years low profile body is the best too.

It’s really interesting that they didn’t release a new car but went for more of an upgrade package to the existing 2010.

This especially when it’s like a free for all manufacturers releasing new cars left right and centre and causing turmoil in the market place as everyone one of us likes new toys and we are now really spoilt for choice.

I guess it will be down to the talking on the race track to see who really has the better car out there for 2011. It’s going to be an interesting year and let’s face it it’s the normal racers that really decide as they the ones who will use the products in the most extreme fashion.

Since they've included a pic of the radio box in there, does that mean they've done something to it to make it more roomy for lipos?
