Yep, seconded  Shocked

Of all the dates to pick, round 5 now clashes with the 1st round of the summer series at the new 3A track.  Their dates have been up since the 27th Jan.

If it's got to be moved can it be to the week after?  I'd planned my Easter break around racing on the Sunday so the original date wasn't an issue for me.

The reasoning behind the change is all to do with the easter weekend and the Neo-buggy. Seeing as it's the last race day and the presentation of the prizes if we were to do it when many people were either away racing at harper adams or away with family we wouldn't really have a very conducive final round.

But we knew it clashed with Neo from day one. Maybe a couple of people who are doing Neo can now make it but it also means others cant make it.

I think its a silly decision to move the date. I am away skiing both weekends anyway so I aint too fussed.

Any chance it can be moved the other side of Easter to the 30th?  I agree with Al - I signed up for (and paid to do) all rounds based on the published dates, and accomodated those when negotiating with the Mrs.  I'm sure many others will have done the same.  Don't want to miss the first round at my old club now they're ready to re-open on their new site.

The decision has not been made lightly.

The committee discussed the change of date and wanted to do what was best for the majority of racers and the club.

We knew we would not be able to please everyone but we are sure that the change of date is better for the majority in the long run.

Agreed,

the people that were in place at the time agreed  on the dates i was one of those people.

I paid like adrian for all rounds based on the dates given arrangements had to be made to ensure i could make all rounds.

To just change the date is a bit unfair,  of course dates have to be changed at times  but previously when we had to do this  we asked everyone who was racing there and put up a pole. It wasnt just a desicion based on a few people in the comittee

Hopefully ill still be able to make it now

I can understand it from both sides....

Not really good changing a date what ever the reason, we all knew that the last round clashed with Neo 08 when we all signed up on round 1

But

With it looking like Brennan, Sam or even Cradock winning the buggies or being in the top 3 they will all be at the Neo 08 so what do you do??

Maybe and it is only my little thought on this asking everybody at round 4 after or before drivers breifing and getting a vote on it. I hope i havent put anyones nose out of joint  Huh

As a few of us have paid in advance with the information provided but now seems that we can't make the new date, can we be repaid for the round that you have moved.

Any one who has paid in advance and cannot attend will be entitled to a refund

No nose out of joint here but the change of date was a unanamous decision by those in charge now at DRT. I wish people would understand the club has evolved from a bash track to now a race track & changes have to sometimes be made for the good of the club which will not always please everybody all the time.
The date change actually makes it harder to defend my lead but that is life & I would rather the chance of doing the extra round, its also pointless running the 5th / finals round with only half an entry & the potential winners not actually being there. You will also find myself & sam do not actually qualify for proline prizes as we are both sponsored by them.
With the work myself & others are putting into the track it is moving forward & if wasnt for us there would of not been a 5th round as the club would of already closed. With the track changes done over this last few weeks those that race this coming sunday will not be dissapointed & with a potential finals round being fully booked this is what the new DRT needs to survive & push forward for the future.
