Yipeeee a dry warm day & about time fed up of wet nationals.
With a well prepped track by tony & his crew once the surface dust had cleared which took a few rounds the track was very grippy on line & great fun to drive.
For me from first practice the 808 was good so no alterations.
Rnd 1 went out on M3 bowties as track was slick, a clean run although the slick track meant i backed off as the run up to the jumps was hard & rather than wrecking the run opted safety & 16th in rnd.
Rnd 2 swapped to M2 crimes these improved grip & side bite as the dust was clearing. Clean run no mistakes, a back marker caused a slower final lap losing me 2 seconds which was about 6 places overal to go 12th in rnd.
Rnd 3 blue groove conditions opted for M2 bowties for last run to loose side bite. Car was super fast but jumps were starting to blow out with stone's now ripping out on the up ramps this caught me out several times sending the car sideways into the dusty parts so losing time. 11th in rnd & overal 15th so 5th in the B.
With only a shock oil change required for the car & a new set of M2 bowties was ready.
My start was good & found myself 2nd only for a stone to thow me into the dust again & last doh!. I settled into a steady pace & worked my way through the pack & at the first fuel stop ino 6th. by the 2nd stop was now in 4th & a comfortable buffer. At this point wished id opted for the XTR's as the heat was making the m2's like jelly so had sam & stuart catching as my tyrees were going off real fast.
Into the last lap with both of them right on my wing was making them go the hard way & round the outside. An error from stuart let sam in but i just had to make the last 4 corners & keep it tight. Disaster a stone ripped out of the track on the up ramp of the double causing my car to nose plant straight in the up ramp on the 2nd, this caused the slowest endo you ever saw & on its roof . Relegated now to 8th because of marshalling time gutted big time & that was it race over. Did i say haw gutted i was gutted.

Well that was my day the 808 & OS performed great all day shame for the luck in the final but the quote thats racing does not feel good yet. As team manager 6 xrays in top 20 & 3 in the main was a good day for the team.
Off to france this week for Euros B which will be fun & a nice break away.
